The name 'Kakadu' comes from an Aboriginal floodplain language called Gagudju.
Kakadu National Park changes dramatically with the seasons and one visit just is not enough! The local Bininj people interpret 6 different seasons. Their year starts with the scent of blossoming paperbarks, overflowing into thundering waterfalls and dazzling lightning displays, then trickling into billabongs filled with magpie geese and waterbirds.
